Why Not Her Call On Irish Government to Lead Afghan Humanitarian Effort.

The devastating situation unfolding in Afghanistan is speedily becoming more deadly by the hour.

Thankfully evacuation flights have resumed from Kabul, but its’s civilians are fleeing with nowhere to go, trying to get out of the country on flights, some military-operated, to seek refuge in bordering countries and internationally.

Why Not Her along with many other organisations call on Irish Government to lead Afghan humanitarian effort.

There has been a Nationwide Call to Action. We echo that call.

Over 400,000 people are displaced, female journalists are facing deadly threats, and as these ongoing tension rise, we can not forget about the Covid-19 pandemic and drought also affecting the country and its people.

The Taliban Islamic military group has returned to a position of power – and it is having life altering and dangerous effects on the women and young girls of Afghanistan who are presently being erased from their communities at an alarming rate, in short it is every woman’s worse nightmare.

Under Taliban rule, restrictions previously imposed on women, including not letting them work and girls not allowed to attend school, inevitably may return.
